Daily Prompt: Inhabit
I like to play with words.

I spell out acronyms to remind me of bigger pictures. I chase down where and how a meaning came to be. And I love a good pun.

Inhabit is a verb that I can have some fun with. It is, of course, “to live in,” and usually refers to a physical place.

It’s derivation is Latin habere “have,” evolving to in + habitere “dwell.”

But I’m familiar with another way to use it.

“In habit.” As in “I’m in [the] habit [of].” Get it? I’m in habit.

Habit is neutral. “A settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.”

Don’t we all want the good ones?

  1. Love your perspective! Yes, we want the good ones but in my life I find that the bad ones keep showing up and there are very few good ones! That’s a matter of prayer, for sure! Blessings to you today, my friend.
